Tes Shortlist Caterham Prep as Best Independent Prep School – for the second year running!
Caterham Prep has been shortlisted for the ‘Independent Prep School of the Year’ award in the 2025 Times Education Supplement (Tes) School Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of the education world.
We are incredibly proud to be recognised in this way for the second consecutive year, placing us once again in the top eight prep schools in the country. These accolades follow on from our senior school’s win as Tes’ Best Independent Senior School.
Caterham’s groundbreaking work in digital and innovation has also been recognised, shortlisted for Tes’ Best Use of Technology award for its development of teaching and learning assistant RileyBot and EDGE curriculum.
Ben Purkiss Headmaster said:
“To be shortlisted again is a huge achievement which is shared by everyone here at the Prep School – staff, pupils and our families. It is a wonderful recognition of the ongoing innovations and progress here spanning the curriculum, wellbeing, digital provision, sport and co-curricular offer to ensure that our pupils gain the very best education. It certainly means a great deal to all of us – but rest assured our focus and measure of success remains the positive everyday experience and progress of our pupils.
The Tes Schools Awards recognise the very best teachers and schools from UK state and independent schools, across early years settings, primary and secondary. An expert panel of judges comprised of leaders in education selected the shortlist from a huge number of entries across the country.
Jon Severs, Editor of Tes Magazine, said: “We’ve seen some incredible entries nominated in this year’s awards. The Tes Schools Awards are a highlight of the year, and it’s important that we properly recognise the fantastic work that’s been done in education across the academic year.”
The Tes Schools Awards Winners will be announced on Friday 20 June – fingers crossed!
