Castle Capers at Hever
Last Thursday, Year 1 had a beautiful sunny day out visiting Hever Castle to reinforce our learning about castles as part of our big question ‘What makes our island special?’ The children were fascinated to see all the features of a castle in real life and enjoyed exploring different rooms inside. We learned more about a castle’s defences and had fun making our own mini catapults to fire ‘missiles’ to attack a castle. To round off a busy day the children were able to enjoy some time in the adventure playground, and we all returned to school hot, tired and happy.
Well done to all the children for their super behaviour and for impressing all the guides and helpers at the castle, who commented on how knowledgeable and enthusiastic they were.
