CARPA Robot Grand Challenge

CARPA Robot Grand Challenge

Year 6 have been learning about the history and development of robots. Inspired by the DARPA Self-Driving Car and Robot Challenges, our young engineers have taken on the CARPA Robot Grand Challenge - the Caterham Advanced Research Projects Agency – applying creativity, coding and collaboration to tackle real-world inspired missions. Working in teams, pupils chose from a series of design challenges, and are in the process of assembling, customising and programming their robots to compete, test and improve their designs.

From obstacle courses and rescue missions to dance-offs, battles and movies, every group has brought a unique approach; even acting out their code to test the logic as they have assembled their code sequences. The project combines knowledge, skills and agency in equal measure: innovation, teamwork and problem-solving in action.
