Big Minds Meet Little Learners
On Thursday, U6 Psychology pupils visited our Year 1 and Year 3 pupils here at Prep to conduct observations and see first-hand Piaget’s stages of development. Pupils performed a range of experiments testing children’s ability to conserve (understand that mass/volume/number stays the same even if the appearance changes) and egocentrism (ability to understand another’s point of view). It was certainly a fun afternoon for our young pupils and a real opportunity for our U6 to see the psychological theory they will be learning about in the Cognition and Development topic come to life! The Sixth Formers will now apply their understanding of inferential statistics to analyse their data and present their findings in the form of a psychological report.
