Patterns of Ghana

Patterns of Ghana

Year 4 have been exploring pattern in Art as part of their Patterns of Ghana project. Inspired by traditional Adinkra symbols, the children have been learning about how these symbols are used to communicate ideas and meanings through pattern.

The class experimented with block printing, practising their printing techniques on paper, they then developed their work further by printing onto fabric. The children created striking patterns while exploring repetition in design. Their finished fabric prints look fantastic and showcase their growing confidence with this printing technique.
