On Monday, Sixth Form pupils from Caterham School and the London Academy of Excellence were joined by Old Caterhamians, parents and staff at Joe Macari’s Performance Cars’ stunning London showroom for a truly memorable CaterhamConnected Insight Evening. We are hugely grateful to Joe Macari for his generosity in hosting us in such an extraordinary setting. Caroline Buckland OC, Group Marketing Director at Red Bull Racing Formula One Team, was a standout keynote, captivating the room with her refreshingly honest and energising message, urging students to say yes to every opportunity, adopt a “can do, will do” mindset, and throw themselves fully into whatever role they find themselves in. She spoke passionately about backing what you believe in and following your ambitions, while also broadening horizons by highlighting the wide range of careers within motorsport beyond the driver’s seat.

The evening brought together inspiring speakers from across the industry, and it was fitting that Alia Ardron OC closed with such clarity and purpose, drawing together the key themes of the speakers and reflecting on her own journey as a test and launch engineer with SpaceX and Lúnasa Space. She reminded pupils that every mission is powered by a much wider team than those in the spotlight and commended the strength of the CaterhamConnected network in promoting teamwork.
