Pupils Shine in End of Term Music Exams
We are immensely proud to share news of outstanding exam outcomes for pupils ranging from Year 4 to Upper Sixth who have achieved exceptional results. Their success is a testament not only to their individual talent, but also to their dedication, perseverance, and passion for music.
This term saw an unprecedented number of pupils entering graded ABRSM instrumental and vocal exams, and Trinity Musical Theatre exams. A total of 64 pupils from Caterham Senior School, Caterham Prep, Copthorne Prep and Hawthorns School were entered, with a staggering 60% achieving merits and distinctions. From pianists mastering complex repertoire, to vocalists delivering confident and expressive performances, the breadth of musical accomplishment has been truly inspiring. Several pupils also took on the additional challenge of higher-grade theory exams, demonstrating a deep understanding of the structure and language of music.
Beyond the exam room, our pupils continue to enrich the musical life of the school through their enthusiastic participation in orchestras, ensembles, and choirs. Many pupils balance multiple musical commitments, rehearsing regularly, supporting their peers, and contributing to a vibrant and inclusive musical community.
We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all pupils involved, as well as our dedicated team of Visiting Music Teachers who continue to support and inspire them. We look forward to seeing these young musicians continue to grow in confidence and artistry in the months ahead.
Special recognition goes to those awarded the highest level of distinction:
