Our First Ever WoLLoW Day!
World of Languages, Languages of the World Day
On the final day of the spring term, Prep and Pre-Prep took part in our first ever WoLLoW Day. The school was transformed into a global adventure, with pupils using tickets and passports to travel around the world – visiting different continents without leaving the classroom!
Around the World Highlights
During WoLLoW Day, pupils travelled the world through a series of exciting activities. In Tanzania, they learnt a Swahili song and discovered more about our partner school, Lerang’wa. In France, they explored cognates and constructed their own Eiffel Towers. In Ancient Egypt, they took on an escape room challenge, cracking hieroglyphics through teamwork and problem-solving. In North America, pupils explored Native American story stones before creating their own, while in Brazil they learnt a lively dance and discovered how music and language connect. In Japan, they tried origami and learned about calligraphy and Japanese writing. In Australia, they created artwork inspired by the Great Barrier Reef, and in the Polar Regions, pupils completed an ice-themed science experiment.
WoLLoW Day was a fantastic celebration of languages, cultures, creativity, and global learning. The children showed great enthusiasm throughout and truly embraced their journey around the world!
