Reception Welcomes a Special Visitor

Over the next few weeks, the Reception children will be learning about the different people in our community who help us and the important roles they play in keeping us safe and supporting our daily lives. As part of this learning, the children were incredibly lucky to have a special visit from Captain Shane Ross, Emerson’s daddy, who came into class to talk about his job as a military engineer. 

Captain Ross shared lots of interesting information about his role, explaining how he helps others through his work and some of the skills needed to do his job. The children were fascinated by everything he told them and showed great curiosity, enthusiastically asking many thoughtful questions throughout the visit. 

It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to hear first-hand about a real-life role within the military, helping to bring their learning to life and deepen their understanding. A huge thank you to Captain Ross for taking the time to visit us and inspire the children—we really appreciate it!
