A flying start to the season!

The prep girls hockey season got off to a flying start this week with everyone participating in matches against The Hawthorns. 

It was the first ever match for our Year 3s, who had the added bonus of a coach ride to an away fixture!  They enjoyed a round robin of mini games playing four matches in total, with goals scored on every pitch.  This season the girls are really focusing on their fundamental techniques and learning how to put them into practice on the pitch! 

The U10s had a very successful outing, with Caterham winning across the board, scoring 17 goals across the four teams and conceding five.  The U11A team battled hard and were held in a 2-2 draw and the B team used the space well and despite leading 2-0, tiredness set in and Hawthorns took their chances to take a win 4-2.  
To round up the week, the U9s hosted Hawthorns in a round robin of mini games. It was a lovely afternoon in the sunshine, where the girls tried their best to put into action some of the skills they had been working on earlier in the week.
