Year 2’s Smashing EDGE Experiment
Year 2 had an egg-cellent time during their latest EDGE challenge! Working in small groups, the children put their super learning powers of collaboration and resilience to the test as they designed and built protective structures to prevent a raw egg from smashing when dropped from a height.
Using a variety of materials, including cardboard, paper, elastic bands, cotton wool, bubble wrap, straws and lollipop sticks, the children carefully planned their designs before putting them to the ultimate test! There were three successful drops and, unfortunately, two rather messy splats! However, every group showed fantastic teamwork, creativity and perseverance, learning that sometimes things don’t go quite to plan – and that’s all part of being a brave learner!
