Making a Difference: Good Choices

Making a Difference: Good Choices

On Thursday Mrs Drummond (Deputy Head in the Senior School) spoke in Prep Assembly about how we can actively make the world a better place.  She quoted the philosopher Edmund Burke who said “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”

She explained that the quote suggests that in order for the world to be a good place, it isn’t enough for us just not to do bad things and not to make bad choices.  That is a good start, but in order for the world really to be a good place, we have to actively do good things, and actively make good choices.

We talked about what we think is important and what we could do to make a difference to ourselves, the people around us and the effect it will be having on the world.
