High Flying STEM Cats

High Flying STEM Cats

Making the most of some beautiful March weather, over 20 pupils from Year 6 participated in some high flying STEM work this week. As they accelerated between the tree platforms of our WildCats Adventure Area, they got to feel the effect of gravity! They used a roller system which allowed them to travel along a metal wire followed by a brake system which used friction, allowing them to slow down as they approached and touched down on the landing platform, much like a brake pads on a bike or car.

Over the next two weeks we will be splitting back into our forms (smaller numbers) 6T – 16 March and 6D – 23 March to complete a target challenge on the longer Zipwire! It’s going to be amazing!
