Lift Off for Ms Williams!
Year 5 Scientists have now recovered the meteorite from the crater in Naboo using their knowledge of levers, pulleys, and some engineering skill. The teams competed in a round robin challenge to put their experimentation in the lab to the test. Ranging from lifting Ms Williams with a pulley system, to balancing as much weight as possible using as little weight as possible.
The teams are now looking at the importance of friction as they look at choosing the right path to travel along on their dirt bikes.
Did you know that elevators use a series of strong pulleys to lift them up and down, the tallest building in the word the Burj Khalifa, has 163 floors and the elevators travel at 10m/s.
