Year 5 Head to Royal Observatory, Greenwich

Last week, Year 5 scientists went on a mesmerising trip to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich where they experienced an interactive planetarium adventure looking at the solar system, what it contains and just how big it is. They also got hands on in two workshops to consolidate their class learning. They discovered all about the Sun, Moon, and Earth as well as learning about how the solar system formed.

Did you know the solar system is 4.5 billion years old? The largest star in the universe – (UY Scuti)- we have found to date could fit 5 billion of our suns in it! WOW!
