A Celebration of Skills, Spirit and Sunshine at Sports Day
The sun was shining (mostly!) as Pre-Prep pupils took centre stage for their annual sports events this week, delighting parents and staff with their enthusiasm, skill, and sporting spirit. Each event began with a carousel of activities, allowing pupils to showcase the techniques and games they’ve been mastering in their sports sessions.
From batting off a tee and rugby dodging to long jumping and target throws, the carousel provided a display of agility and coordination. The children tackled each activity with determination, eagerly demonstrating their growing confidence and teamwork.
The excitement didn’t stop there! After the carousel, pupils raced to the finish line in a series of classic athletic events, including hurdle races, sprints, and a fast-paced relay. Cheers from proud families echoed across the field, spurring the children on to give their best effort.
No sports day would be complete without a fitting finale, and the Pre-Prep events ended on a high with a special medal ceremony. Every child was celebrated and cheered for their determination, enthusiasm, perseverance, risk-taking, and collaboration—some of our learning super powers.
The weather added its own twist to the event. While Year 1 and Year 2 athletes bravely competed under blazing sunshine, Reception class skilfully dodged the rain—just about! Regardless of the weather, the smiles and laughter were unmissable, and it was lovely to see so many parents in attendance to support and celebrate their children.
It was an event for all to remember, filled with energy, achievement, and lots of cheering—a wonderful reflection of the Pre-Prep spirit!
