A Fierce Start to the Season!

The girl’s hockey season is well underway with every year group turning out against Hawthorns this week.  The U8s played mixed ability mini games; they were full of enthusiasm and plenty of goals were scored.  The senior team worked tirelessly against Hawthorns holding a good defensive line and working hard through the midfield, but the Hawthorns defence were equally as strong, and we couldn’t quite break through to the ‘D.’  Hawthorns converted their chances and took the win, 3-0. The B’s worked well and had plenty of possession but were held up by the Hawthorns defence once again.  The C’s started strong, taking an early lead, but Hawthorns fought back and capitalised on the gaps scoring a flurry of goals.   

The U9s rounded off the week with 5 a side matches on the Caterham Astro. The A’s had a very competitive match resulting in a 1-1 draw, the B’s were also involved in an end-to-end battle with another drawn result 3-3.  The C’s and D’s came away with a win a piece notching up 10 goals between them- a super start to the season.  Next week, all teams will face RSM.
