TV’s Laura Tobin Presents the Weather!

TV’s Laura Tobin Presents the Weather!

We were thrilled to welcome TV weather presenter Laura Tobin, from Good Morning Britain, to the Prep School for a special talk all about the weather. Despite an unexpected power cut, Laura carried on without her slides – a true sign of a brilliant presenter! Her visit was both inspiring and full of fascinating facts.

Laura spoke to us about her role on television, how she presents the weather live to the nation each morning, and what it’s like working behind the scenes at a major news programme. She explained how weather forecasts are made, and we learned all about different types of clouds. From fluffy cumulus clouds to towering cumulonimbus clouds that bring thunderstorms, the children enjoyed discovering the scientific names and what they mean.

We also found out that one single cloud can weigh as much as 100 elephants – an amazing fact that really got everyone thinking!

Some of the children had the chance to practise presenting their own weather forecasts in front of the group – a real highlight of the visit! Laura’s enthusiasm and knowledge brought the world of weather to life for all of us, and we’re very grateful she took the time to share her expertise with the school.

Thank you, Laura!
