A Week of Stories to Celebrate

A Week of Stories to Celebrate

This week, the school has been alive with the magic of stories as we joined in the celebrations for National Storytelling Week. From our very youngest readers to our more confident early storytellers, the children have embraced the joy of books, language and imagination with enthusiasm and pride. Across the classrooms, pupils have delighted in sharing favourite tales, retelling well-known stories in their own words, and inventing imaginative narratives inspired by pictures, props, and play. Storytime has been filled with lively discussions, thoughtful questions and a growing confidence as children discovered the pleasure of listening to and performing stories together.  It has been a joy to see how reading and storytelling support so many aspects of early learning; developing vocabulary, encouraging creativity and, most importantly, fostering a genuine love of books. The children’s excitement has been infectious, and their willingness to participate, listen carefully and share ideas has been truly impressive.

We are immensely proud of our youngest pupils for the confidence and curiosity they have shown this week. National Storytelling Week has provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their achievements and to reinforce the importance of stories in nurturing imagination, communication, and a lifelong love of reading.
