Cross Country Teams Top the Podium

On Monday our cross country team travelled to Lingfield College Prep for our first meet of the year.  It was a very hot afternoon and the children ran remarkably well on a challenging, undulating fast course.  The Year 4 girls will surely benefit from the experience with our best placed finisher Annie E who finished 8th.  The boys ran extremely well and with Noe finishing a very creditable 2nd, Major close behind in 3rd and Alex in 5th, it was enough for them to win the team title.  The Years 5/6 girls ran brilliantly as a team with Bethany, Eva, Riva and Lucy finishing 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th respectively.  Run of the day was by Rafe E in the Years 5/6 boys who went out like a whippet and led from start to finish displaying real guts and determination. Kiarash finished 7th and Max 9th which was enough for the team to win the team title.  

Our teams performed so well over the four races that we also won the overall combined team title. This is a great success for the cross country team and considering four of the six runners in the Under 11 boys and girls teams were from Year 5 the future of cross country at the Prep School looks very bright.
