Engineering Projects in Construction Club
Year 1 and Year 2 pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the first two weeks of Construction Club. The pupils have worked collaboratively, using their problem-solving and teamwork skills to design and build a range of exciting structures.
One challenge involved creating a bridge longer than 30cm that was strong enough to hold a dinosaur. The pupils experimented with different designs, tested their ideas and made improvements to strengthen their bridges.
Another task was to design and build a bus stop that would keep the people inside dry. This proved very popular, especially when the pupils used a water spray to test their structures! There was lots of laughter, discussion and careful thinking as they evaluated what worked well and what could be improved.
Construction Club has been a fantastic opportunity for creativity, teamwork and hands-on learning, and the pupils are already looking forward to the next challenges!
