Great Season so far for girls football!

The girls football season kicked off this week, with the U10s and U9s running out against Hawthorns. Having only had one games session, the girls played with great determination and energy, and particularly enjoyed the mud!

The U10A’s were unlucky to go down 2-1 having had the lion’s share of play, the B’s struck goal from the first whistle and ran away with a convincing 5-0 win, and the C’s battled hard, with end to end play, but couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities in front of the net. The U9’s were fired up on Thursday afternoon and they did not disappoint, the A’s dominated the match, using the wings effectively and striking well on target, winning 4-1.  The B’s also demonstrated calm passing under pressure and had several goal opportunities, eventually converting two chances to win 2-0. The C’s and D’s also ran their socks off, and worked well as a team, they both won 4-0 and 2-0 respectively.

It all bodes well for the main part of the season after half term- well done everyone!
