Knight Visits Year 1
As part of our big question ‘What makes our island special?’ Year 1 have been learning all about castles and this week the children were thrilled to have a visit from a knight! They were able to have some exciting hands-on experience trying on different types of armour and costumes worn by archers as well as learning more about a castles structure and defence features. The children were able to fire bean bags from a trebuchet to knock down the castle they had built, and the highlight of the day was taking part in a pretend jousting competition!
