Out of the Box Science Challenge!
Science ‘Out of the Box’ Diorama Challenge is open for all Prep and Pre-Prep children to get creative and demonstrate a scientific concept or theory.
Can you use one box (shoe box sort of size or thereabouts) to creatively demonstrate a scientific concept or theory?
Crafting, building, 3D printing, modelling, sculpting, painting and drawing…all creatives are welcomed!
The box can be upright or on its side, involve the lid or not, and the contents can ‘grow out’ of the front, edges, top or sides as long as the basic footprint is one ‘shoe box’ sized box.
We are all really looking forward to seeing the creativity and beauty of these boxes. Please can the entries be brought into school on Monday 23rd March so they can be made a feature of for ‘Show and Tell in Science Lessons’.
Most children will like to work on this themselves and have such a sense of achievement in their work. However, if some would like to work with a partner, please can this be someone in the same form group so both children can share the experience of talking about their creative build together in the same science lesson. Please do discuss ahead of the build who will keep the diorama as a lot of creative pride work will go into them. In this case it may be worth doing two of the same diorama or split the diorama into two halves so both children will get to keep their half.
We are so excited to see what you will have coming ‘Out of the Box’ and will share this with you in Prep News in the coming weeks.
