Piers Comes 7th in Surrey Schools Cross Country

Congratulations to Piers M (Year 6) who represented Caterham Prep in the Surrey Schools Cross Country Races last weekend at Reigate Priory Park. The event acts as a gateway to running at county level for Surrey and all of the county’s schools offer up their fastest, most able runners for the event.

Running was tricky as although it wasn’t raining, much of the course was boggy and slippery mud, made especially muddy for the Year 6 boys’ race, which was the last event after hundreds of other children had run their races.

Piers came in strongly at 7th for Caterham, earning himself an invite to Surrey training. The event organisers were incredibly uplifting to the top 10 competitors, and they were told to: ‘Look to your left, look to your right – these people you are with are going to be with you a long time going forward in Surrey Athletics, it is a fantastic achievement, well done’.
