Postcards from the Sky

Postcards from the Sky

Year 1 have been exploring the work of artist Jim Darling and his aeroplane window paintings as part of their transport topic. The children created their own imaginative views from an aeroplane window, thinking carefully about what they might see while flying high above the ground.

They then reduced their designs to create their own stamps. The children made a picture to post, addressed an envelope and added their handmade stamp. To make sure the letters could travel through the real postal system, an extra Royal Mail stamp was added too. The children were very excited to send their artwork on its own journey through the post!
