Pre-Prep discover the ‘Woodwide Web’

The Pre-Prep children having been learning about trees. They are all becoming very good at recognising the trees in the playground and in the Outdoor Learning Classroom. We have been talking about deforestation, climate change and how important trees are to keeping our world healthy. The children were amazed to find out that trees communicate via fungi mycelium, this is called the ‘Woodwide Web’. The children were then given the opportunity to make ‘woodland smiley people’ using clay and natural items that they found in the outdoor space.
