Pupils Excited to Learn with Live Mandarin Classes
There was much excitement this week as Year 6 began their innovative Mandarin language course, as part of the 21st Century Skills curriculum, using the DragonsConnect learning platform. Children worked live in small groups with specialist language teachers, all of whom are either native Mandarin speakers or fully fluent. The children and teachers have shared workbooks and are able to work individually or in groups on language tasks. In future sessions, they will also divide into ‘breakout groups’ to work in partners or even smaller teams to practise and develop their speech and writing skills. In between direct teaching sessions, they worked on an interactive language program online, with lessons that they are able to continue and develop at home, via their personal logins.
