Readometer Hits An all Time High!

It was wonderful to see and hear such excitement last week, generated by World Book Day, and our collective love of books, stories, and words. Our virtual ‘readometer’ hit an all-time high, and as infectious book chatter has continued this week, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of the fantastic collection of reading resources available to you at home, via the Oxford Owl website

With a library of activities and resources for every stage of the learning journey, curated by the team at Oxford University Press, you can never be short of inspiration to help your little ones learn, grow and flourish at home, as well as in the classroom and beyond. From beautifully illustrated picture books to children’s fun fiction, non-fiction reference books,  new vocabulary in the ‘big words for little people’ section, plus a wide selection of e-books too, there literally is something for everyone!

Of particular interest for families of some of our littlest readers, might be, for example,  the ‘Raise a Reader’ section which aims to give grown-ups expert advice, practical support and inspiration to help their child become a lifelong reader and how to share spectacular storytelling at home.

Here are two of our youngest ‘early readers’ in action this week, both perfecting the skills of blending single letters sounds together to read whole words and short sentences. We are so proud of them!
