Siemens Off Shore Wind Power Visits Year 6
Year 6 were treated to a fascinating talk on Thursday about WIND POWER by Mr Elmes, Senior Project Manager for Siemens Off Shore Wind Power and a Caterham Prep parent. His engaging talk was a real eye opener- did you know that Caterham could be powered by two of the new 100m tall (bigger than BIG BEN!) wind turbines that have been installed off the coast of Suffolk. Wow! Making the most of our tech, Mr Elmes was able to present to both 6D and 6T in their separate classrooms before everyone ventured outside to hear how engineers can safely work on the huge turbines using an immersion suit as demonstrated by Mr B-W!
