PA Projects

Fundraising from Parents’ Association events is shared between the PA’s chosen charities and projects that enrich pupils’ experience of the School. This funding provides additional equipment, facilities and activities beyond what the School would ordinarily provide. Over the years, PA funding has supported everything from outdoor learning spaces and sports kit to science, music, film and wellbeing initiatives, benefiting pupils across the Senior School, Prep and Pre-Prep.

The PA has funded projects proposed by parents, staff and pupils, and helped many new clubs get started so children can enjoy them for years to come. We particularly welcome proposals that enrich learning and the pupil experience in the Senior, Prep and Pre-Prep Schools and advance the provision of education to pupils, especially those that can be enjoyed by a large range of pupils. Anyone in our school community can make a proposal, many of our best-loved projects began with a simple suggestion from a parent or member of staff.

Recent projects include:

Bee Enterprise — a new pupil-led business venture for Lower Sixth (and later Fourth and Fifth Year) pupils, who’ll raise and care for bees, build a brand and sell honey as a hands-on lesson in running a business.

Pergola & Raised Planters for the Outdoor Learning Area — a shaded, hands-on growing space where Pre-Prep and Prep children can plant, tend and learn about nature together.

Girls’ Boarding House Games Equipment — a new games console and dance mat giving boarders a fun way to unwind together in their common room.

Engineering Building Kit — a large-scale structures set inspiring the growing Sixth Form Engineering Society to design and test bridges, cranes and buildings.

Smart Telescope for the Astronomy Club — opening up stargazing and astrophotography to pupils and supporting the club’s first community stargazing event.

Film Studies Equipment & New Film Club — giving pupils the equipment to write, shoot and edit their own short films, from Film Club to Film Studies lessons.

Underwater Bone Conduction Headphones — allowing swimming coaches to speak directly to pupils during lessons, from Pre-Prep through to Sixth Form.

Grant for the Music Department — allowing the department to invest in new equipment.

Horticultural Club — supporting a thriving gardening club where pupils grow vegetables, flowers and herbs, now running across both Senior and Prep.

Outdoor Story Telling Area — a cosy, purpose-built corner where our youngest Pre-Prep pupils gather to listen to stories together.

Playground Pergola — a sheltered outdoor hut that’s quickly become a favourite quiet space for Prep pupils.

Playground Markings — colourful, long-lasting playground games designed to encourage concentration, co-operation and communication at break times.

Outdoor Table Tennis Tables — two foldable tables for the Eothen courtyard, played on every day!
